MySQL for matthom.com Jan02 '03

Finally. I’m off of work for the day. Eight hours of customer service during the holidays is quite enough for me. Now I’m at home, ready to hit the computer hard.

I am in the process of learning MySQL, which is a database management system, and it basically allows you to create databases of whatever you wish. Like for example, this site would be a lot more functional if the entries were all stored in a database, to be accessed from the web. Well, that is my goal anyway.

As I add more and more entries each and every day, the amount of files increases, as well as the entire complexity of the site. It just keeps growing. The average viewer doesn’t mind, but to the designer, it may pose a problem down the road.

So MySQL is an excellent choice. They are here.

I have to go check the mail. See if I have any bills. What else is new.
