Florida on Friday Aug09 '04
This Friday, I’ll be making my third trip to Disney in two years. This couldn’t be possible if my living situation were different, or if Michelle’s sister, Nicole – who works for Disney, wasn’t as considerate and generous as she is – for she allows us some nice "front gate" discounts at all the parks. We will repay her, in time.
This trip will be slightly different.
We land in Orlando on Friday morning around 10:30 AM EDT (8:30 AM CST).
We meet Nicole somewhere, and somehow – the details of that are yet to be released. Regardless, at some point in time, on Friday, we hit the parks with a full head of steam.
Right now (days before the trip), our faint visions are Animal Kingdom, and/or Epcot. Frankly, we have grown tired of MGM and Magic Kingdom. Although, we will most likely go to those places, anyway. The excitement contained within is too hard to pass up.
Truthfully, I find Epcot utterly fascinating, and full of exploration. There really is no way to become bored in Epcot:
And I have never been to Animal Kingdom, despite my recurrent visits to the area. This fact alone will prompt us to take more action to visit this park, and I expect to be very pleased with the visit. I hear Animal Kingdom has some really interesting things.
By the time the clock hands reach midnight EDT on Friday, I am guessing I will be extremely tired. Michelle and I have alternate plans, in regards to lodging – but for Friday night, we are planning on staying at Nicole’s house.
Sometime Saturday evening, Michelle and I will leave Orlando in our rental car, and head north to Daytona Beach. This is where we will reside for the next five days. And some time during those five days, I will find an internet connection, in order to continue making posts. (It wouldn’t be a trip without it).
What’s planned for us on the beach? Nothing but cooking, reading, writing, and some light shopping in St. Augustine (nearby). I expect to turn a lot of pages in the current book I am reading, The Devil in the White City, which is an excellent book on Chicago’s history – specifically, the 1893 World’s Fair, and murders that happened within.
On the following Friday, August 20, we return to Orlando to spend the day at the parks again. And then on Saturday, we hop on an early flight home.
Possibly more to come...
