Mark Cuban’s influence Sep15 '04

If I had to work under any corporate executive, it would be Mark Cuban – the owner of the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks.

Mark has a web log, and it is one of my favorite to read, in regards to understanding some aspects of business, creativity, success, and motivation. He is a highly influential person.

For those who don’t know... Mark Cuban is a billionaire, who has always been known for his crazy antics at Dallas Maverick basketball games. He is the owner who is "more like a fan," in that he is always sitting courtside at Dallas games, shouting at the refs, for bad calls. Mark has recieved more fines from the sidelines, than most NBA players have recieved on the court, in the game!

He is also known for "spoiling" his players. One year, Mark put complete Sony Playstation systems in every dressing area, for the entire Dallas Mavericks team.

Mark is very involved with the internet, and that is actually how he made his fortune.

But Mark is not just some "lucky guy," who hit it big. He takes great pride in his organization and business ideals. He knows what it takes to succeed, and that failure is a regular thing.

Recently, Mark wrote about success and motivation.

...You can fail any number of times, but you only have to get it right one time.

...When I catch myself daydreaming about how Im going to do this or that, I always try to wake up and ask myself just how Im going to get from where I am, to where I want to be. What EXACTLY is it going to take to do it, rather than dream about it.

...You have to learn how to use time wisely and be productive. How wisely you use your time will have far more impact on your life and success than any amount of money.

Although I don’t like his permalinks, the article is awesome. I printed it, and I am keeping it near by. It hits on some excellent points. It is definitely worth a read.
