Apple suing bloggers? Dec19 '04

I’m wondering very much if any bloggers got in trouble for posting information about a possible new Apple product, because Apple is suing.

The latest complaint filed by Apple states that certain individuals leaked details on the internet about a new Apple product, which has yet to be released.

The complaint alleges that "an unidentified individual, acting alone or in concert with others, has recently misappropriated and disseminated through Web sites confidential information about an unreleased Apple product."

I know Mike D. posted something the other day, and I hope he’s not in trouble. Actually, he did it twice.

There was a few other bloggers who talked about it too.

This morning at breakfast, Michelle asked me which cell phone companies I thought would merge next. (Sprint/Nextel already did).

It was then that I told her about the possible new Apple product.

My question is... Does THAT constitute as releasing confidential information, as well? If I discuss it with someone, how is it any different than writing something on my web log?
