‘Keynote vs. PowerPoint’ article needed Jan23 '05

Rob Griffiths mentions his article at MacWorld, on how Apple’s latest version of it’s Keynote software stacks up.

I appreciate this article, and I would like to try this software out, since I never have, and I’ve heard it’s a great alternative to the monopoly of PowerPoint – when it comes to "presentation sofware."

I would like an alternative to PowerPoint, and something that is made specifically for a Mac. Keynote is it.

However, I am always unsure about spending money up front, on software I’ve never used. That is why I appreciate 30–day trial periods. Nine times out of ten, I usually end up purchasing the software, simply because the trial period helped to discover if the software was useful or not.

Apple obviously doesn’t offer trial periods for it’s software.

That being the case, maybe a good "PowerPoint vs. Keynote" article would help shed some light on the positives and negatives of each program. By highlighting the strengths and weaknesses of each program, people who have used PowerPoint their whole lives could then see the distinct differences, and it would help them make the transition to Keynote.

I am open to all new software possibilities, especially when it means breaking away from a Microsoft product. I don’t mean to sound cynical, but change is always good.
