When I first heard it... Mar07 '05
Still as good, or better than, the day I first heard it, seven years ago...
The clashing of instruments and vocals at the end of Let Down, by Radiohead, is an astonishing display of sheer musical talent.
On April 10, 1998, Radiohead played this song (and many others), at the Rosemont Theatre, in Rosemont, Illinois – not ten minutes from where I currently reside. The theatre sits secluded among a forest, and a thin, poorly paved road, which glistens when it rains, and stretches on – in curves – for miles.
The theatre only seats a few thousand people – much smaller than Radiohead commands today.
The echo of this band playing in that hall still lingers today.
