Netflix oops May13 '05

Netflix is, above and beyond, the best online DVD rental service I’ve ever tried. Except, sometimes they do some strange things...

For example, I received this message yesterday (May 12), indicating that a certain movie has been shipped to me, and should arrive by Saturday (May 14):

This morning (May 13), I received another notice, regarding the same movie – and let it be known – I don’t watch movies this fast:

Obviously, I hadn’t received the movie, yet I’m getting a notice that Netflix has received it back.

Hmmm. Maybe they shipped it to themselves?

Here is the response I just received from Netflix customer service, barely 30 minutes after I sent the request:

Hi Matt,

Your account indicates "Run Lola Run" was shipped and then checked back into your account. While performing a final inspection of the disc we found that the title may be damaged. As a result we have cancelled this title from shipping.

In order to ensure complete viewing satisfaction, we will be processing a new copy of this title for shipment, which will be sent to you shortly.

Sorry again for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.

Thanks,
cs,

Like I said – the best in the business.
