Milwaukee this weekend Jul09 '05

I will be heading north to Milwaukee this morning, for a wedding, and perhaps some Summerfest, if I can find the time.

My cousin Carla is getting married, and it should be a great day.

I haven’t been in contact with Carla over the years, since she’s been living out of state, and going to school to be a doctor.

My most distinct early memories were when I was in the single–digits of age, enjoying many Christmas Eve’s at my Grandma’s house. On one particular Christmas Eve – the longest day of the year for children – I remember the final few hours of the night, before everyone went home, and Carla, my brother, and I played a board game in the basement for hours – until we were practically pulled upstairs, because it was late, and we had to get home (as if my parents actually thought we would sleep on such a night).

In any case, I will be leaving shortly, and I should be returning home mid–afternoon Sunday. (In other words, I "blink," and it’s back to work on Monday)

It’s only an 80 mile trek, but still enough to say, "I’m going out of town."

And, being the netizen I am, I made sure to check for WiFi availability in the hotel. Yummy.

(I YHY’d that link above (more on IYHY), because the actual site is so horrendously image–heavy, I needed to strip it down. Good Lord. Talk about an extreme use of tables. Ouch.)
