My Halloween costume for today Oct31 '05

I said earlier today that I would mention my costume for Halloween, and indeed I will.

I was SPAM - like email SPAM - except I walked and talked, and generally had human characteristics, unlike the people behind real spam.

I thought this would be a good costume for a computer guy, involved with the information superhighway. (Sarcasm, yes.) But... me being the lone web developer at my current job - the costume fit me well. And, hey - it didn’t cost me anything!

The pizza guy liked it. At lunch, he stopped by, and asked what I was. I asked him for his social security number, email address, and a valid credit card number.

So... not only did I dress the part - I also had to act the part - by being intrusive, annoying, and otherwise disrespectful. I had to act like SPAMMERS do, by disregarding privacy, sanctity, and by being as annoying as possible. Well... I didn’t go that far - but you get the idea.

OH - Flickr has some photos with me in my home-made costume. I also had SPAM on my legs, but they are not in the photos.
