Scent of a magazine Jan20 '06
Scent is a powerful thing. It’s underestimated in marketing and advertising.
This morning, a co-worker gave me a recent copy of Wired magazine, of which she doesn’t read, but for some reason, it gets delivered to her home.
Now... I currently read only two magazine publications - New Scientist and Readers Digest.
But I was really enthralled by the scent of Wired magazine. As soon as I picked it up, and flipped the pages, I could smell the fresh, glossy magazine paper.
And the weight of it in my hands... this is something I miss, when only reading articles off of a web site. Web sites lack appeal to other senses.
