California Dreaming Feb28 '06
As February draws to a close, I can’t help but start dreaming... "California Dreaming," as Michelle has labeled over her office calendar, counting off the days until we both leave for the west, the sun, the waves, and probably some wine and zoo animals (San Diego zoo, Seaworld).
We leave March 19, and that’s barely 20 days. I’m looking forward to it, greatly. It’s gonna be a full week of relaxation and fun activities.
We’ll be staying in Carlsbad, which is just north of San Diego, but close enough to drive "to and from," every day.
Activities include the previously mentioned San Diego Zoo and SeaWorld, among many other things.
Of course, I managed to fit something "techie" in there, too! What? You didn’t think I could go a whole week without doing something involving technology or web development, did you? Nah.
So... without further ado, I plan on meeting Adam Christianson, of the MacCast! For those of you unaware, the MacCast is one of the best podcasts about Mac’s available today. iTunes has it featured as one of the top Mac podcasts, available for download.
Adam lives in Carlsbad, so it’s really convenient for him to meet with me, since I will be right in town. We’ve already tentatively setup details for our meeting. I plan on doing a formal "Q&A session," about podcasting, "podcasting on a Mac," and just general Mac things. Since we are both big "Mac geeks," I’m sure we’ll have lots to talk about, over a few beers, especially. Michelle is a "Mac Geek" too, so she’ll be interested, as well.
After the trip, I plan on working with Andy, to create a formal "write up" of the interview, which could be released on Pain in the Tech.
Exciting, indeed.
Other activities include a possible drive to Mesa, AZ, to see the Chicago Cubs in spring training! This is still tentative, since the drive is almost 7 hours, from San Diego, so we’d have to have alternate lodging, for that night. I hope to do it, since I’d love to see the Cubs in spring training, and just to visit Arizona!
We’ll see if it actually happens.
To make things more exciting, I’ve put a "countdown number" on the front page of my site. Keep an eye as it counts down!
