Memorial Day weekend May26 '06

Many people suggest that Memorial Day "kicks off the summer," and the weather this weekend, in Chicago, must be in agreement. This weekend looks to be pleasantly warm - 80 and sunny is the forecast.

I wanted to write this as a "Matt was here" type of thing - in other words, I want to remember these "pre Summer" days, because all that’s in my future is warm weather, baseball, barbeque, friends and family.

Before you know it, it will be Labor Day, and the summer will be ending. So enjoy it while you have it. This is the beginning. This is the birth.

Breathe deep and take it all in. In no time, the dark days of winter will be hovering over us.

Now I am one to find beauty in all seasons, but I’d like to think the winter is a long time away.

If you don’t mind, I’d like to keep it that way.
