Stopwatch for wasted time Jun20 '06
I’m getting a stopwatch for work, so every time I’m interrupted with some small task that just has to be done, this second, I can see just how much time I’m wasting during my day.
It’s quite simple. Whenever I get interrupted from my main task, I start the stopwatch. Once I finish the requested task, I stop the stopwatch.
At the end of the day, I’ll have a total number of minutes (or hours) that I spent away from my main tasks.
That includes requests from other people, as well as my own time researching things that I either forgot, or don’t know - such as researching the string functions for JavaScript. This also counts as an "interruption" from my main duties.
I’d like to see how much time is wasted every day.
