QuotationsBook.com Sep25 '06

I am a big fan of QuotationsBook.com - a web site that delivers quotes every day, specifically via RSS.

Over the past month or two, I have been collecting my favorite quotes, and saving them in my Google Notebook.

Here are some that I really liked:

The best ballplayer's the one who doesn't think he made good. He keeps trying to convince you.

Stengel, Casey

Often in winter the end of the day is like the final metaphor in a poem celebrating death: there is no way out.

Gomez-Arcos, Agustin

The real process of making decisions, of gathering support, of developing opinions, happens before the meeting or after.

Deal, Terrence

To himself everyone is an immortal. He may know that he is going to die, but he can never know that he is dead.

Butler, Samuel

Women prefer to talk in twos, while men prefer to talk in threes.

Chesterton, Gilbert K.

Fear is a disease that eats away at logic and makes man inhuman.

Anderson, Marian

We are more often frightened than hurt; and we suffer more from imagination than from reality.

Seneca

The sea complains upon a thousand shores.

Smith, Alexander

Better three hours too soon than a minute too late.

Shakespeare, William

The secret of happiness is this: let your interests be as wide as possible, and let your reactions to the things and persons that interest you be as far as possible friendly rather than hostile.

Russell, Bertrand

This is just a small sampling of my favorite quotes. As they come in each day, I save more!
