Amazon Prime is the new Costco Oct09 '06
Is it just me, or has Amazon Prime turned into Sam's Club? Or Costco.
By this, I mean it seems that the only eligible "prime items" are items in bulk.
For example, I went on Amazon looking for a small bottle of Listerine, which I used to get from "prime" all the time, for a mere $3, with free two-day shipping. Now, the only Listerine items, also "prime eligible," are the bulk packs (pack of two or more). Not to mention they're the 1.5-liter bottles. I don't need that much. I just want a small bottle. Who the heck needs all that Listerine??
I can understand why Amazon doesn't want to sell $3 items with free two-day shipping. It probably makes more sense for them to offer items in bulk, so at least $10 is spent.
This is seriously going to curb my shopping habits. Instead of buying things "one at a time," I will be forced to start buying in bulk.
Now if you come over, you'll know why there's 16 tubes of toothpaste in the bathroom.
