Dreamhost FLV converter Feb20 '07
I recently noticed a new feature for Dreamhost account holders: FLV converter.
It takes an AVI/MPG/MPEG/MOV file, and converts it to a web-compatible FLV file.
An FLV file is the same file type as seen on YouTube, Google Video, etc.
What's nice is instead of having to first upload screencasts on YouTube, and then post them here on my blog, I can immediately convert it through Dreamhost. YouTube has a noticeable "lag time" when posting videos. Sometimes it takes hours for an uploaded video to show up on the site.
Dreamhost's approach is much faster.
