YA! I had this problem with my gmail sending an e-mail by accident to a prospective employer. I hate this crap!

I think email programs should discontinue keyboard shortcuts that automatically send messages. Or, at least give the user the option to turn that off.

Here come my rants for you since I love keyboard shortcuts. Outlook does have a recall feature to pull messages off the server, though Gmail does not to my knowledge. Also, if you are really worried about the composition of your email, then compose it outside of your email client. Type your mail in a word doc or google doc, then when it is tweaked to your heart's desire, paste it in and hit send. You can disable keyboard shortcuts in Gmail, though you will still be able to tab to a selection and hit enter or spacebar to fire the button. You could probably disable some shortcuts in Outlook as well.
