Excel lease calculator Mar28 '07

I just leased another car, and updated my custom-made Excel lease calculator, which I'd like to share with everyone.

The Excel lease calculator is a simple spreadsheet I created to help determine how many miles you have left to drive on your leased automobile.

It's not to be confused with a financial lease calculator, of which there are many already available.

My lease calculator is more of a personal tool that allows drivers to accurately view how many miles are still available under their lease terms (or how many miles they are currently over, if that's the case).

I've now leased three vehicles, and my primary concern has always been:

Will I go over my set allotment of miles?

Many people cringe at the thought of being stuck in a lease contract, and having to pay for each mile over their limit.

Rather than "guess" if you will be over your limit, just plug in some numbers, and you'll get an accurate representation of how many miles are remaining, or how many miles you are over (and the subsequent charges thereof).

Go ahead and download the Excel document if you'd like to give it a try!

Development notes

I liked the simplicity of creating this in Excel, but eventually I'd like to get it on a web page, for easier access and sharing.

I tried importing it into Google Docs & Spreadsheets, but it wouldn't accept it - probably because of my technique of naming formulas.
