Recap: Backing up your data with online storage Oct09 '07
It's been a while since I've discussed storage solutions, and how I'm applying them to every day, practical uses.
2007 has been "the year of storage" for me, when I finally embraced Amazon's online storage solution, S3. In January, Pain in the Tech kicked off an idea that many folks in the tech industry may have been thinking, but never actually tried: using Amazon S3 with iTunes.

Since then, I've been storing as much of my life as I can on trusted, secure remote servers.
The idea has hopefully sparked a revolution that's inevitable: getting away from storing files on personal, local hard drives. Get it away from accidental damage or theft, while never having to worry about backing the data up, or having any kind of limitation on how much data you can store.
My philosophy is, "What comes in, must go up." In this case, "up" means upload.
This is the future, and it can be achieved now, if you're willing to adapt to it.
