Utterz: record and share voice messages Nov09 '07
Sure enough, I ask, and I shall receive. A few days ago I thought I had discovered an untapped market for a useful web/voice service: the ability to send email voice attachments.
A random Twitter update directed me to Utterz. Apparently it's been around a while - I'm noticing people with utterz from July.
It's odd (a subtle twist of fate, perhaps?) that I had this enlightenment only a few days before I randomly discover a possible solution.
In any case, Utterz seems to solve a major shortcoming of mobile-blogging: the ability to record a voice-message, and share the message as an audio file. I don't need Jott to transcribe it into text - I'll just take the full audio file, thanks. Utterz seems to provide this.
Once I record my voice-message (to myself), I can then share it with others via email or on a web page. Straight to the point, and simple. Exactly what I was looking for.
Here's a real-world example to demonstrate.
I'm driving home and I notice an email from my sister on my mobile phone. Rather than waiting to get home to manually type out a response, I can just record an Utterz voice message, and email that to her!
Oh, Utterz does a lot more than this, too. But this is one feature I'll be using the most.
