OpenMatthom Nov13 '07
The web changes fast, and with it my readers come and go. Maybe you read this site frequently, or perhaps you've only been referred here from a random Google search or forum thread.
In either case, I'd like to build more solid and substantial relationships with my readers. I'd like readers to remain here more often. Stay and chat a while. Take off your shoes.
Today I am announcing OpenMatthom, which is a great new concept that will change the way you interact with, well... me! For every site/blog/social network you participate in; for every instant-message/text message/email sent, you'll have an opportunity to share your words or thoughts with me!
I want to know what you're thinking - even when you're not talking to me! It's not enough to talk directly to me through email, blog comments, or social networking. I need to know what you're thinking at all times.
All you have to do is be willing to include an open framework (using modern HTML and JavaScript) into all of your social network sites, blogs, emails, instant-messages, etc. Once installed, all of your communication (with others) will be sent to me as well!
A real-world example would be if you're discussing one of my blog posts on another blog. Rather than copying/pasting the thread over to my comments section, I'll already know what you think! Neato!
OpenMatthom has already been adopted by many loyal Matthom readers (including Joe, Mark, Bob, Larry, and Kathy). I am hoping to gain more users soon!
This is only the beginning, folks. With further development, your feedback, and more participants, OpenMatthom will become something truly great for the web.
......
If you haven't already guessed, this is indeed a gag post. It's certainly not April 1, but I felt the need for this right now. I'm just getting a bit tired of all these "Open" frameworks coming out. "Open-this" and "Open-that." Enough already.
