Google Docs import 500KB limit Dec03 '07

I'm really hoping for an upgrade to Google Docs soon, which could allow for larger file size uploads, specifically for Microsoft Word documents.

As it stands now, you can only import documents up to 500KB, which is really low considering today's average file sizes, which usually contain screenshots and other media embedded. Often I'll need to quickly import documentation containing screenshots and other images, but the 500KB limit is harsh. It's hard to keep it under that.

Compare that to presentation uploads (10MB) and spreadsheet uploads (1MB). If you think about it, a spreadsheet is more likely to be just textual data, whereas a Word document is more likely to contain images and presentational elements. So why allow 1MB for spreadsheet uploads, but only 500KB for documents?
