Dreamhost Google Apps for new domains Apr07 '08

I noticed Dreamhost now offers instant setup of Google Apps upon adding a new domain, or for existing domains already hosted at Dreamhost:

Intuitive sub-domains

Dreamhost creates intuitive sub-domains based on the Google Apps offerings.

For example, a typical Google Apps URL looks like this:

http://docs.google.com/a/matthom.com

This address would direct users to Google Docs for my domain.

Dreamhost takes this a step further and automatically creates a more friendly URL:

http://docs.matthom.com/

The URL above would just redirect to the appropriate Google Apps URL.

Email hosting

Rather than using Dreamhost's email system, you can have your email hosted at Google. Your email addresses still appear domain specific, but behind the scenes, Google hosts it:

itsupport@matthom.com

This email address would be accessible through the Gmail interface.

All automatic

Most importantly, the Google Apps services are automatically applied to your domain. All you have to do is complete the registration on the Google Apps site.

Saves a lot of time!
